Vladimir Tarnopolski, Impression-Expression III
for piano, flute, clarinet and string trio (1996)
*Alla Borzova, Majnun Songs
Text by 7th Century Arab poet
These two major works reflect Sonic Boom's "multi-national" theme. Vladimir Tarnopolski, director of the Moscow Centre Contemporary Music, has been a
professor at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory since 1992. Alla Borzova is an American composer whose life led her here from Belarus. Their musical voices reflect a rich and many-faceted background. The concert is part of the SONIC BOOM 11 festival, which includes concerts by the member groups of Sonic Boom and by guest ensembles and soloists.
